Which Social Media Sites are Best for Dommes?

It is clear that social media is a great, free way to market yourself as an online female dominatrix. But, which sites should you use as a Domme? As with most things that pertain to your online business as a female dominatrix, there is no right answer that applies to everyone. It will most likely take time and experimentation to figure out what works best for you.

For instance, you might find that you’d only like to focus on one or only a few social media sites. You might find that you want to be listed on all of them to maximize your exposure. Or, you might find that you hate social media and do better with out it. Again, only time and experimentation are likely to tell you these types of answers for sure.

This being said, I hope this guide helps you to navigate all of your choices. Keep in mind that many social media platforms can be discriminatory towards sex workers in general. Please post with caution and read all of the site’s TOS and rules carefully.

Twitter

If you decide to have any social media account, Twitter is usually the first site to go to. There are numerous FemDommes on Twitter and, as such, there are many subs that use it as well. I’d even wager to say that it is the most popular social media platform for Dommes.

Snapchat

Snapchat is becoming more and more popular! Right now, I feel as though Snapchat was first used as a tool that Dommes and many cam girls would sell to their members. However, it is quickly becoming the go-to place for many users and, more and more, I see models that have a free Snapchat as well that they use to promote themselves with.

Instagram

Instagram is another very popular social media tool that many Dommes use. It makes sense. It’s pictures and videos and there are no text only posts available in the same way that Twitter has… and we all know how many men and subs alike enjoy viewing social media in this way.

Tumblr

Tumblr used to be a lot more popular than it is now but, still, it does hold some relevance and there is an audience that still uses it. The ability for users to ask questions has always been especially interesting to me, haha.

Fetlife

It is easy to forget about this little gem but FetLife can certainly be useful to reaching an audience that is very much involved in the BDSM lifestyle. Just be aware that some users like to use this platform to connect in real life as oppose to looking for an online Domme.

Youtube

YouTube is the #2 most visited social media site in the world. There are some Dommes that use this to put up non-nude previews of their work, as an example of how to effectively use YouTube. The extra exposure opportunities with YouTube are pretty much endless.

Facebook

It is best to stay away from Facebook. Facebook is not adult friendly and, in most cases, people you know in your personal life may be able to more easily find you. Never, ever use Facebook as a Domme.

Choosing Not to Have Social Media

Remember, you don’t have to be on social media. If the idea of it is stressful or annoying… you might be better off without it. There are some Dommes that only focus on their clip stores, for example, and social media is not required to be successful.

That being said, especially as a newer Domme, the exposure could really help. I know that, from my experience, many subs have found me on various social media sites.
